MTN Group launched an AI-powered Job Board on 12 August 2026 as part of its free MTN Skills Academy. The feature connects job discovery with skills development and application tracking and is available across the 11 MTN markets where the Skills Academy operates. The launch happened on International Youth Day.

What the MTN AI Job Board Does

According to MTN, the Job Board recommends job opportunities based on a learner’s skills, location and career goals. Users can filter and save vacancies, track their applications, and get recommendations for free Skills Academy courses to close any skills gaps for the roles they want.

How to access the MTN AI Job Board

  1. Go to skillsacademy.mtn.com
  2. Sign in to the MTN Skills Academy or create an account
  3. Open the Jobs section available through the platform
  4. Browse vacancies recommended based on your skills, location and career goals
  5. Filter and save relevant vacancies
  6. Track your application progress through the platform
  7. Where you have a skills gap, check the free Skills Academy courses recommended for the role

Where it’s available

MTN confirms the Job Board is available across all 11 MTN Skills Academy markets. ITWeb specifically names South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, Rwanda, and Ghana, but MTN’s release does not provide an itemised list of all 11.

The numbers behind it

MTN says its Skills Academy has, since launching in 2022:

  • Nearly 526,000 enrolments
  • 192,000 course completions
  • 1,122 specialisations completed

These are MTN-reported figures and haven’t been independently audited.

MTN also cites a projection from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) that more than 230 million jobs in sub-Saharan Africa will need digital skills by 2030.

Why MTN is doing this

Marina Madale, MTN Group’s Executive for Sustainability and Shared Value, said the Job Board is a way of putting the company’s commitment to digital and economic inclusion into practice by connecting learning, skills, and job opportunities. She also said turning skills into real jobs takes effort from business, government, and educators together.

Built for accessibility

The Skills Academy platform includes accessibility features for users with visual, cognitive, neurological, mobility, and age-related needs. Anyone who finishes a course gets a digital certificate.

What we still don’t know

MTN hasn’t said how many jobs were listed on the Job Board at launch, who the employers are, or named all 11 markets individually. There’s also no data yet on how many people have used the tool since it went live.
